Letters to the Editor

Issues of Into the Ruins are comprised primarily of fiction, but also include a letters to the editor section, in addition to book reviews and an editorial.

We invite letters, first and foremost, in response to the stories, editorials, reviews, and other letters published in previous issues. We also accept letters addressing deindustrial and post-industrial science fiction, the consequences of industrialism and fossil-fuel exploitation, short reviews and recommendations of published works of fiction within Into the Ruins’ wheelhouse, thoughts about what you would like to see in future issue of Into the Ruins, thoughts about the importance of fiction in imagining futures that differ from our culture’s most common tropes, and other creative and entertaining letters tackling subjects or espousing view points that you believe fit into this publication’s philosophy or that relate to any of our blog posts.

We encourage letters of any length that are concise and entertaining, make unique and unexpected points, and are thoughtful and insightful. Please include your full name, city and state, and an email and phone number. Published letters will include your full name (or first and last initial if you are only comfortable with that), city, and state, but your other contact information will be kept strictly confidential.

You may email letters to editor@intotheruins.com. Please use “Letter to the Editor” as your subject. You may also mail letters to:

We will contact you if we intend to publish your letter.

Thank you!
